Short answer: Jaipur is the easiest of Rajasthan's wedding cities to reach. It is around four to five hours from Delhi by road, has an international airport, and has heritage venues in and around the city. The season runs from October to March, and on the most popular muhurat weekends venues and hotels sell out early, so fix your date and venue first and plan guests around them.
This guide covers when to go, how guests get there, venues in the city versus outside it, and how to keep everyone informed.
When to have a Jaipur wedding
| Months | What to expect |
|---|---|
| October to March | The main season. Warm days and cool evenings, chilly nights in December and January, so plan shawls or heaters for outdoor evening functions. |
| April to June | Very hot. Daytime outdoor functions are hard on guests; venues and rates are easier to get. |
| July to September | Monsoon. Greener and quieter, with few Hindu muhurats. |

How guests get to Jaipur
- By road from Delhi: around four to five hours. Many Delhi guests drive, which makes it easier for them to come for the whole wedding.
- By train: fast daytime trains from Delhi take around four to five hours to Jaipur Junction.
- By air: Jaipur International Airport, at Sanganer in the south of the city, has direct flights from most major Indian cities and some international ones.
Because so many guests drive, tell them where to park at each venue and how long the drive is between your venues. Jaipur traffic in the evening can turn a short distance into a long one.
In the city or outside it
| Venues in the city | Palaces and forts outside it | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting there | Easy for guests staying in city hotels | An hour or more each way, so plan transport |
| Stay | Many hotels nearby at different budgets | Limited rooms on site; overflow guests stay elsewhere |
| Best for | Large guest lists and short visits | A smaller, multi-day wedding where guests stay together |
If the venue is outside the city, decide early who stays on site and who stays in Jaipur, and run shuttles on fixed times between them.
Music and timings
Under India's noise rules, loudspeakers and amplified music in the open are not allowed between 10 pm and 6 am, and many heritage properties set their own limits. If the sangeet or baraat runs late, confirm the venue's cut-off before you print the schedule.
Keeping guests informed
A Jaipur wedding usually has guests driving in from Delhi, flying in from further away and staying in more than one place. Give them one link with:
- Every function with its time, venue, map and parking details, and the dress code for each.
- An RSVP for each function, so the caterer and transport have real numbers.
- Arrival dates and how they are travelling, so pickups and rooms can be planned.
- Their own hotel and dates if you are hosting the stay.
Wedence builds that page free with an RSVP for each function, and every new wedding gets every premium feature free for its first 10 days, including WhatsApp reminders, room allocation and arrival passes. Make your free wedding website. Disclosure: Wedence publishes this guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best time for a wedding in Jaipur?
October to March. December and January evenings are cold, so plan warmth for outdoor functions. The most popular muhurat weekends book out early.
How far is Jaipur from Delhi?
Around four to five hours by road or by fast train, which is why many Delhi guests drive to Jaipur weddings.
Should we choose a venue in Jaipur city or a palace outside it?
A city venue is easier for a large guest list and short visits. A palace or fort outside the city suits a smaller wedding where guests stay together for several days, but needs planned transport and overflow rooms.
How do we keep guests informed across several hotels?
Send one link with every function, venue, map and timing, collect each guest's arrival details on the RSVP, and send each guest their own stay details.
