Will the invitation work on older phones?
Yes, and it is designed for that rather than assumed. Guests open invitations inside WhatsApp's built-in browser on mid-range Android phones on ordinary mobile data, so templates are built to appear quickly there rather than only on a new iPhone on wifi.
